India’s Company-wise Coking Coal and Met Coke Importers in Jan-Oct’21

India’s state-owned steelmaker Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL) stood as the largest coking coal importer in Jan-Oct’21 at 11.65 mn t, up 11% y-o-y. Tata Steel was the second-largest importer at 9.08 mn t, down 10% y-o-y, followed by JSW Steel at 8.28 mn t, down 7% y-o-y, and RINL at 4.35 mn t. It is to be noted that India imported 55.12 mn t of coal and met coke in CY’20. Coking coke imports in the period under review amounted to 47.20 mn t and met coke at 2.21 mn t.
