India’s Coking Coal Weekly Imports rise by 19.4%

During the week ended on 3 May, 2014 total Coking Coal imports in India increased by 19.4% regarding previous week.

India has imported around 0.72 MnT Coking Coal at the end of Week 18. India’s total weekly import comprises of 19.6% Coking Coal, comes from different destination. Total imported quantity has increased from 0.60 MnT of preceding week, assessed by SteelMint.

A major supplier of Coking Coal Australia has supplied around 0.51 MnT and registered a down of 4% against the previous week.

India has imported total quantity from Australia, USA, Mozambique & New Zealand. USA has supplied around 0.09 MnT of Coal at Haldia & Vizag port. Out of the weekly imports, India has import about 0.09 MnT from Mozambique at Mormugao port; whole quantity imported by JSW Steel.

Coking Coal

As per the consideration of 33 major & minor Indian ports, Gangavaram has imported highest quantity i.e. around 0.16 MnT of Coal. The second highest quantity port was Mormugao, imported around 0.14 MnT of Coking Coal from Australia & Mozambique; the whole quantity belongs to JSW Steel & Finolex.

SAIL, RINL & Essar Steel are the major importers of Coking Coal at the end of week 18 and imported around 0.19 MnT, 0.16 MnT & 0.09 MnT respectively. JSW Steel has imported around 0.09 MnT Coal from Mozambique at Mormugao port.

The ports considered are: Dahej, Mormugao, Navlakhi, Mundra, Mumbai, New Mangalore, Hazira, Kandla, Bedi, Porbander, Dahanu, Dharmatar PnP, Dharamtar Ispat, Tuticorin, Jaigarh, Dighi, Revdanda, Magdalla, Pipavav GPPL, UTCL- Pipavav, Sanghi, Sikka, Okha, Muldwarka, Dhamra, Ennore, Gangavaram, Haldia, Krishnapatnam, Kakinada, Paradip, Vizag & Karaikal.
