India’s aluminium semi-finish imports fell 4% to 27,015 t in Dec’23 from Nov’s 28,055 t. However, there was a remarkable surge of 33% y-o-y in CY’23. In Dec, ingots dominated imports at 20,575 t (down 10% m-o-m), with Qatar as the primary supplier (6,423 t). Billets followed at 3,560 t (up 35%), with Malaysia leading (1,718 t). JNPT recorded highest material unloading in Dec’23 with 12,441 t.
