India:OMC raise Iron Ore Lump Offers by 7.8%

Orissa Mining Corporation has floated an open offer for sale of 1,50,000 tonnes of iron ore lumps (10-40mm) of grade 62% from its Khandadhar Mines located in Koira (Odisha) for fourth quarter

Orissa Mining Corporation (OMC) , state owned mining company having an annual production of 2.4 million tonnes in the fiscal year 2012-2013 has revised its iron ore lumps prices by almost 7.8% for 4th quarter of 2013-2014.

OMC, which was offering 10-40mm CLO of grade 62% at INR 4,501/MT in third quarter (Oct-Dec 2013) has raised its offer to INR 4,855/MT for sale of 1,50,000 tonnes, which is available on first-come-first basis.

Trade participants mention that prices have gone up primarily due to rising sponge iron prices in Indian domestic market. Major merchant miners based in Odisha have already raised their offers in previous month.
