Wire rod offers in secondary market like Raipur and Durgapur fell marginally by INR 100/MT in a week’s time.
Indian secondary wire rod market, mainly Raipur and Durgapur have not seen any major prices change. However, demand seems to be moderate during last week.
A wire rod trader based in Durgapur reported, “Trading activities were quite good last week, mainly from local market as well as from north-east India”.
In Durgapur, wire rod and HB are available at INR 23,900/MT and INR 24,600/MT (basic price) respectively.
Similarly, plants in Raipur are offering the same grade material at respective price of INR 25,800/MT and INR 27,800/MT (basic price); offers more or less unchanged in a week’s time.
Offers for 12G GI wire and 12G barbed wires are assessed at INR 33,500/MT and INR 35,600/MT in Raipur. Prices are basic.
A GI manufacturer based in Raipur said, “Buying of barbed wire is very well owing to seasonal duration; in turn supporting demand of GI wire. It is likely to sustain for the next 1-month too”.
He also added that wire rod manufacturers in Raipur are also offering discount of INR 700/MT at present, depending on quantity lifting and payment conditions.
