Even though , the domestic rebar offers registered a sharp correction; structure offers remained static in few regions as there was a steady demand for the material.
The demand for the Structural steel (light, medium or heavy) remained average which influenced the manufacturers in two major regions i.e. Central Region-Raipur, Western Region-Mumbai to hold the offers firm despite fall in billet offers.
“the demand is varying but still is on a positive note as this is the season where in the demand for the structural materials remain uptick.” stated by a manufacturer based in Central Region – Raipur who produced about 150-200 ton per day light & medium structures.
Central India is the hub of small & mediums re-rollers which contribute approx 10% out of total India’s long steel production and supplies products to across India and exports too. Presently, there trade discounts in Raipur are prevailing at INR 200-500/MT in heavy structure depending upon the quantity, one of the manufacturer reported.
Although, in India’s South Region-Hyderabad, North-Ghaziabad and in Eastern part-Durgapur the offers marked correction of INR 300-700/MT in line with slump in billet offers (INR 800/MT) amid heavy rains which in turn low off takes.
