Indian secondary structure market has been almost unchanged with minor price corrections in last 2-3 weeks. No major price corrections in its raw material, MS ingot/billet, is the major factor of stability in structure prices.
In week 37 of Sept’15, secondary structure manufacturers based in Durgapur have resisted price corrections, maintaining prices at the same level of INR 29,300/MT (100*100 angle), INR 29,900/MT (40*40 angle), INR 29,300/MT (200*100 beam) and INR 29,300/MT (200*75 channel).
However, heavy and light structure makers in Raipur and Mumbai have made minor price corrections of INR 100-200/MT in angle, beam and channel of all sizes compared to last week’s prices.
Current angle price (size; W-o-W) movement in major markets are – Raipur at INR 27,100/MT (100*100; -200); INR 25,800/MT (40*40; 0) and Mumbai at INR 28,900/MT (40*40; -200).
Heavy structure, 200*100 beam is offered in Gaziabad at INR 31,200/MT ( -100) and Raipur at INR 27,100/MT (-200).
It is also to be noted that recently on 4 Sept’15, RINL had also floated an export tender for 12,000 MT structure of IS 2062:E250 A grade with deadline on 24 Sept’15. The qunatity is divided in 6,000 MT for angle (75*75/ 90*90/ 100*100/ 110*110) and 6,000 MT for channel (100*50/ 125*65/ 150*75/ 200*75).
