Indian Structure manufacturers are resisting for further price correction as prices have fallen by INR 500-1,000/MT in all major market since last 3 weeks.
A sharp fall in Structure prices by upto INR 1,000/MT since last 3 weeks is resisting Indian Structure manufacturers for further price cut. While, demand is sluggish in the domestic market across India.
Eastern India
In Ghaziabad, Structure prices have declined by INR 600-800/MT in a week’s time. However, Ingot prices have fallen by INR 1,000/MT from the beginning of this month. A manufacturer here is offering I-Beam 200 at INR 36,800/MT. Similarly, Structure offers in Ahmedabad have fallen by INR 800/MT in this month.
On the other hand, Durgapur market remains unchanged with minor correction because of low trade and demand. However, demand from neighboring states has improved. A manufacturer is offering Angle 90/100 at INR 35,000/MT.
Southern India
Structure prices in Hyderabad have also declined by INR 600/MT since last week and Angle 50 is being traded at INR 34,000/MT. While, MS Ingot/Billet prices remain unchanged since last 10-12 days.
Western India
Post Lok Sabha election in Maharashtra, market seems to be positive. A trader based in Mumbai said that buying was too low in last month but after festive season, market seems to be positive and new buying is likely to arrive in this month. Angle 25 in Mumbai is being offered at INR 37,900/MT, which was INR 39,000/MT in the starting of this month.
Central India
Heavy Structure prices in Raipur have reduced by upto INR 1,000/MT M-o-M. A manufacturer commented, “The individual offer is competitive. However, basic rates have declined owing to falling semi finish (MS Ingot/Billet) prices in the market. I have booked a 150 MT Structure lot before price fall, but now I have fewer orders. Currently, we are working at below 75% capacity.”
M/s Sarthak Ispat in Raipur is offering Channel 200 at INR 34,000/MT ex-Raipur (advance payment).
