The major Bangladeshi mills are actively booking Indian DRI. Deals of about 7,000-8,000 t sponge iron lumps have been reported from eastern India. The deals are reported to have been concluded at around $360/t CPT Benapole (equivalent to $375/t CFR Chittagong). Towards the beginning of week, about 6,000 t deals were concluded at $345-350/t CPT Benapole. SteelMint’s assessment for Indian sponge export has increased by around $25/t following a surge in domestic price by INR 1,500-2,000/t ($20-27) w-o-w.
