Indian sponge iron (80 FeM, 100% lumps) export offers remained stable, as per SteelMint’s weekly price assessment. A fresh deal by a Kolkata based exporter for about 2,000 t was concluded at around $305/t CPT Benapole, equivalent to $325/t CFR Chittagong, Bangladesh. Sources expect sponge iron offers to remain supported in near term due to strengthening raw material & substitute products prices.
