Indian Silico Manganese export stood at 37,431 MT in Oct’16 which increased by a meagre 1.7% M-o-M. In Sep’16 Silico Manganese exports recorded was 36,814 MT. Lower export volume for the last two months can be attributed to rising Silico manganese prices in domestic market on soaring raw material prices. Silico Manganese prices in India has increased by over 25 % in last few months.
The maximum quantity of exports were to Japan (7,103 MT) in Oct’16 followed by Taiwan (4,324 MT). Notably, in Oct’16 exports to Qatar and China increased by a big margin (can be seen in the chart below).
In FY17 (April-Oct’16) total exports have been recorded at 241,972 MT (0.24 MnT). In FY16 India exported around 0.67 MnT Silico manganese.
