Rebar manufacturers across major Indian markets have further fall in prices by INR 200-400/MT d-o-d. They added major reason is due to fall in Ingot/Billet price along with mix demand trends in major mandis.
Current prices for 12mm rebar are assessed – at INR 29,000-29,100/MT ex-Mumbai, INR 26,700-26,900/MT ex-Raipur, INR 29,500-30,500/MT ex-Delhi, INR 28,000/MT ex-Hyderabad & INR 30,700/MT ex-Gobindgarh. The prices are basic (excluding ED & VAT/CST)
A well known manufacturer based in Mumbai shared that the trade of rebar yesterday was good in morning at low prices. Market participant anticipated prices to remain volatile due to increase gap between large and small scale producer by INR 5,500-6,000/MT.
He added that, since beginning of Feb’17 around 4 big rolling mills in the Maharashtra Industrial region had ram-up their productions to full fledged which was usually at approximately 50% operational till Jan’17.
Another rebar manufacturer based in Raipur reported demand from the North India specifically from U.P and NCR region is currently nil , which is one of the main reason behind sparse trade from outstation.
