Though re-bar manufacturers in India have managed to hold offers in last 2-3 days on market uncertainties. Steelmint spoke to few brokers across India to analysis the complete picture on demand scenario.
We found out that demand has not been really good at these levels. There are many factors that have slowed down the demand considerably, some of them are-
1. Seasonal Slowdown (Due to Monsoons)
2. Expensive Cement which has discouraged new construction activities.
3. Liquidity crunch in the market as monsoon has arrived late this time.
4. Poor sales at retail counters.
5. Uncertainty on BIS standards.
Brokers report that demand likely to pick up after monsoons some time in the month of September-October, when construction activities pick up looking at festive season in India.
