Indian Railway Budget 2013: Freight goes up, estimates increase in loading volumes

Indian Railway ministry increases freight charges by around 5% in the recent budget announced on 26th of Feb 2013, on rising fuel cost. Mr. Pawan Bansal, railway minister estimated 1,047 million tons freight loading during 2013-14, 40 million over the current year.

He also assured of Rs 9000 crore investments expected including Rs 3,800 crore in port connectivity and Rs 800 crore in iron ore mines connectivity.
