The vessel-line-up data (as on 18 Jun’21) maintained with CoalMint reveals that a total volume of 2.93 million tonnes (mn t) of thermal coal will arrive at Indian ports between 8-30 Jun’21 from various origins.
Mundra Port overtook Gangavaram Port this week to become the highest receiver of thermal coal of 0.64 mn t with 0.44 mn t coming from Indonesia and 0.20 mn t from Australia.
Coastal Gujarat Power has the highest shipment of 0.14 mn t arriving at Mundra Port from Australia, followed by Adani Enterprise with 95,230 tonnes (t) coming from Indonesia.
Following Mundra, Hazira Port is to receive the second-highest volume of 0.53 mn t of thermal coal with the maximum quantity (0.36 mn t) coming from Indonesia followed by (75,000 t) Australia and (38,000 t) Russia.
Krishnapatnam Port is the next highest receiver of thermal coal at 0.35 mn t with 0.13 mn t arriving from the US, and 74,137 t from Indonesia.
Highest quantity coming from Indonesia
Out of the total volume of thermal coal arriving from various countries, the highest is coming from Indonesia at 1.21 mn t followed by South Africa at 0.56 mn t.

In case of vessels arriving from Indonesia, the highest volume is coming for Adani Enterprise at 0.4 mn t followed by Tata Power at 96,800 mn t and Semb Corp Gayathri Power at 74,137 t.
- For South African coal, Adani Enterprise has booked the highest volume of 0.33 mn t, arriving at Gangavaram and Dhamra ports, followed by Tata Steel’s vessel of 97,000 t coming at Dhamra Port. At Hazira Port, 96,500 t of South African coal is coming for ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India.
- For vessels arriving from Australia, the highest volume has been booked by Coastal Gujarat Power at 0.14 mn t followed by Reliance Industries at 82,000 t.
Adani Enterprise tops buyers’ list for third week
Adani Enterprise topped the list of buyers with 0.80 mn t of thermal coal expected to arrive at Indian ports from Indonesia (0.40 mn t), South Africa (0.33 mn t) and Australia (75,000 t).
This is followed by Coastal Gujarat Power whose thermal coal vessels are arriving from Australia (0.14 mn t).
