A total volume of 3.41 mn t of thermal coal is scheduled to arrive at various ports in India by 11 Aug’21, CoalMint’s vessel line-up data (as on 23 Jul’21) reveals.
Imports from Indonesia are the highest at 2.01 mn t, followed by South Africa with 0.73 mn t. Around 0.29 mn t will arrive from Australia, 0.24 mn t from Russia, and 99,005 t from the US.
With regard to vessels from Indonesia, the highest volume 0.89 mn t is set to arrive for Adani Enterprise, followed by a combined stock of 0.34 mn t for Green Gold and H K Enterprise. Around 0.27 mn t is arriving for Agarwal Coal, and 0.15 mn t for Semb Corp Gayathri Power among others.
As for South African coal, Adani Enterprise also booked the highest volume of 0.17 mn t, followed by JSW Ispat, Swiss Singapore, and Tata Steel with 0.16 mn t each, and Semb Corp Gayathri Power with 77,269 t.
A total of 0.21 mn t of Australian coal, on the other hand, is set to arrive for Adani Enterprise at Hazira and Krishnapatnam, while 76,277 t of Australian coal would arrive for JSW Energy at Jaigarh Port.
Krishnapatnam tops list of thermal coal receivers

Krishnapatnam Port overtook Mundra Port this week to become the highest receiver of thermal coal at 0.70 mn t, with the maximum quantity of 0.32 mn t from Indonesia, 0.15 mn t from South Africa, 0.14 mn t coming in from Australia, and 99,005 t from the US.
Following Krishnapatnam, Vizag Port is set to receive the second-highest volume of 0.44 mn t with 0.33 mn t arriving from South Africa, and 0.11 mn t from Indonesia.
Hazira Port is the next highest receiver of thermal coal at 0.44 mn t with 0.36 mn t arriving from Indonesia and 75,000 t from Australia.
Adani Enterprise remains top buyer
Adani Enterprise is set to bring a total volume of 1.27 mn t of thermal coal from Australia, Indonesia, and South Africa in the coming weeks.
This will be followed by Semb Corp Gayathri Power with 0.37 mn t, a combined stock of 0.34 mn t for Green Gold and H K Enterprise, 0.27 mn t for Agarwal Coal, and 0.16 mn t for Swiss Singapore.
