Indian pig iron export shipments surge by 114% y-o-y in CY ’20

India’s pig iron export shipments recorded a massive increase with 0.79 mnt in CY ’20 compared to 0.37 mn t in the previous year. China remained as the largest importer at 0.5 mn t followed by Bangladesh. MMTC, Vedanta Group and JSPL stood as the top three exporters in CY ’20. Exports have surged on account of dull domestic demand during pandemic and active imports from China.
