Iron pellet prices in Indian market which had been range bound for last few months likely to show some upward movement on short supply of iron ore in domestic market said industry sources.
Supply has hit in Odisha after government's new renewal mining guidelines and Shah commission's visit to the state.Pellet manufacturers have already raised their offers looking at tight supply of iron ore.Things are likely to get bad in coming weeks said sources.
On the other hand 18 A grade mines in Karnataka which got clearance from supreme court are yet to produce significant quantity.
“In case Shah commission's report do not favor Odisha miners,steel prices will jump steeply.” said an industry expert.
