Iron pellet prices in Indian market kept stable, though industry experts see there is enough scope of correction on cheap availability of iron fines (as exports are not viable).
“Low demand from sponge (DRI) manufacturers should not support pellet prices in medium to long term. Competitive offers from Brazil might also weigh on Indian pellet prices. Import offers for 63-64% Fe are in range of $135/t, CFR Indian west coast (import duty of 2.5% extra), where as domestic offers vary in range of Rs 7,000- 7,500/t for 62-63% Fe iron pellets (Ex-Plant, will include additional transport cost)” said an industry veteran.
