With
falling sponge prices and improved supply of iron ore from Odisha, pellet
manufacturers have cut offers marginally by Rs 200-300/MT.
Prices
for 63% Fe is hovering around Rs 8,500/MT (Loaded) in Barbil at Odisha, whereas
other manufacturer was heard to be offering same grade at Rs 8,500/MT Ex
-Tatanagar.
According
to a major Sponge manufacturer, sluggish demand has pulled pellet prices down
and it is expected to move down further.
“Pellet
prices have come down, and there are very few buyers at current offers too. We
prefer iron ore over pellets, but with limited supply of ore we have to opt for
pellets”, reported a big sponge manufacturer based in Durgapur.
