Indian pellet manufacturers look to raise offers further on iron ore crisis

Pellet manufacturers in India look to raise offers further on growing crisis of iron ore in the country. Sources tell that supply has been hampered on Shah commission's visit to Odisha and government's new norms on mining renewal.

Current offers stand at Rs 8,200-8,500/t (F.O.R Barbil Siding), where as Adhunik Metaliks at Tatanagar is offering 63% Fe pellets at Rs 8400/t ex-plant. Sarda Energy at Raipur (Chattisgarh) offers same grade pellet at Rs 9,450/t (Ex Plant).

Sources tell that iron ore crisis likely to get worsen in coming time and market will not be surprised if pellet prices at Barbil,Odisha cross Rs 9,000-9,500/t.

Pellet prices at Karnataka stable at Rs 7600/t (Ex Plant at Bellary- 62% Fe).
