Indian pellet export prices rise sharply in a recent deal

An Indian pellet maker has concluded an export deal for 55,000 t of pellets (Fe 63% with 2% Al content) via tender. The deal was heard to have been concluded at $225/t FOB. The company’s previous export deal, concluded towards mid-Feb, fetched a bid of around $172/t on FOB basis. Chinese buying interest for Indian pellets remained tepid. However, buying inquiries from the EU and other non-Chinese markets have increased significantly amidst the ongoing trade tensions.
