With increasing demand of higher grade material in China along with hike in pellet premium, Indian pellet export offers have witnessed augmentation. Recently an Odisha (East India) based pellet maker has heard to have concluded a deal at a higher price than previous deal.
“We have concluded two deals of around 50,000 MT pellets to be shipped to China towards end of last week. The deals have been concluded at around USD 97/MT, CFR China. The deal is for August shipment”. Shared an East India based exporter.
Previous tender was concluded around USD 92-93/MT, CFR basis in 1st week of Jul. Thus this export deal has been concluded higher by USD 3-4/MT against the previous one.
Exports: Q1-FY-17 to Q1-FY-18
It is to be noted that the Indian pellet exports have been up 8% M-o-M at 0.6 MnT against 0.55 MnT in May’17 and 97% up Y-o-Y compared with Q1-FY-17 to Q1-FY-18.
