Indian large steel mills reported to have booked around 150,000 t of Re-bar cargoes in the last 10-15 days at a price level ranging across $620-630 CFR ($590-600/t, Fob India) for Mar’21 shipments, SteelMint learned from market sources. All the shipments are headed for Singapore and Hong Kong. The Indian government’s recent order, allowing IF based mills to participate in government projects has impacted demand for BF grade Re-bar.
