Mill scale prices in Indian market remain unchanged due to low trade volumes. Volatility in global prices coupled with strengthening of Indian currency has kept Indian buyers out of the market.
Similarly, domestic pellet makers, who are the largest mill scale consumer, prefer iron fines over mill scale. Current prices for Fe 68/70% mill scale are assessed at INR 2,700-2,800/MT (ex-Raipur) and INR 2,000/MT (ex-Kandla).
Export prices are assessed in the range of USD 55-58/MT, CFR China, which turns out to be USD 42-45/MT, FoB India.
