Met Coke prices in India have remained unchanged at the rates in the week last. Demand, however, has been gradually strengthening after the dull state due to demonetization.
In a different note, import offers have undergone slight upward traversals as compared with the imports in the last week.
The latest import offer for the 64% CSR Met Coke is assessed at USD 325/MT CFR India; and that for the 62% CSR Met Coke at USD 322/MT CFR India.
The corresponding export offers are at: USD 315/MT and USD 311/MT respectively on FoB basis.
As there has been a dip in demand due to the demonetization, Met Coke producers in the country kept their ex-works prices unchanged.
The prevailing ex-works prices of the Blast Furnace grade are at: INR 23,000/MT (east coast) and INR 23,500-29,000/MT (west coast).

IMPORTS
Despite imposition of Anti Dumping Duty in place, Met Coke imports into India from China and Australia have not totally been stopped. According to data compiled by CoalMint Research, 207,57 ‘000MT of imports had landed at Indian ports during the 1-23 Dec’16 period. The consignments were from China and Australia, CoalMint Research data further shows.
