Indian Iron Ore Production Climbs 36% Y-o-Y in Dec’16

India’s iron ore production is witnessing significant augmentation in this fiscal. In Dec’16, India’s iron ore production was recorded at 17.9 MnT against 16.3 MnT in Nov’16.

On yearly basis, (i.e. compared to Dec’15), Indian iron ore production has exhibited growth of 36.2%. 

So far in this fiscal, (till Dec’16) India’s iron ore production summed up to 134.1 MnT, up 28% Y-o-Y. From Apr’15-Dec’15, India’s iron ore production was recorded at 104.93 MnT.

Iron ore production in Odisha increased marginally and stood at 8.92 MnT in Dec’16 compared to 8.68 MnT in Nov’16. Rungta Mines (Odisha) produced 2.19 MnT iron ore in Dec’16. From Apr-Dec’16, iron ore production in Odisha stood at 68.35 MnT compared to 51.2 MnT in the same period last fiscal.

NMDC’s iron ore production increased 7% M-o-M from 3.29 MnT in Nov’16 to 3.51 MnT in Dec’16.
