Spot Iron ore prices for Fe 62% in Chinese market are down to USD 100-101/MT CFR China. Low grade Fe 58% prices are at USD 80-81/MT CFR China.
Indian Iron ore exporters continue to hold on their Iron ore export offers, since prices are awfully down at low points.
In a talk with SteelMint, a couple of exporters said, “Until and unless market demand and prices restore, we may prefer to hold on to our export offer. We foresee that the situation will not get better immediately. However, tall supply & short demand mismatch of Iron ore in China has been amplified further.
Nearly 110 MnT of Iron ore is accumulated at Chinese port because of which China government have directed consumers to procure the material from port, rather than imports.
A few Chinese Iron ore traders are anticipating little buying at existing price levels. Indian Fe 58 Fines tradable price is around USD 80-81/MT CR China. However, Indian exporters are not interested to wind up deals over high costing.
