Indian Hot Rolled Coil (HRC) prices observed some correction this week in retail market amid weak demand and availability of cheaper imported cargoes.
2.5 mm HRC prices are assessed at INR 36,000-36,500/MT ex-Delhi (including Excise) and around INR 36,000/MT ex- Chennai/Mumbai (including Excise).
A trader based in Mumbai said, “There has been no official price cut by manufacturers, but due to availability of cheaper imported coils, prices have come down by INR 500-1,000/MT in retail market.”
Another Flat steel trader based in Chennai mentioned that prices are in the range of INR 36,000-36,500/MT for 2.5 mm HRC and around INR 41,000-41,500/MT for 0.7 mm CRC (prices including Excise).
