Indian government has extended time limit to 19 Aug’16 for submission of responses on anti-dumping investigation, concerning Chinese wire rod import.
In another notification issued on 5 Aug’16 by the Directorate General of Anti-dumping and Allied Duties, the government has extended time limit for the submission of responses on anti-dumping investigation, concerning Chinese wire rod import of alloy or non-alloy category.
It is also mentioned in the notification that lot of parties have shown their interest and sent intimation to designated authority to register them as interested parties.
With regards to above, the designated authority, hereby, extend the time limit for all the interested parties to submit their responses till 19 Aug’16, with the condition that no further request for extension will be entertained as the anti-dumping investigations are time-bound.
Earlier, the government had initiation probe mentioned above on 2 Jun’16, with last date to file responses being 4 Aug’16.
Import of wire
In the 1st four months of FY17, import of wire product in India under chapter/code 7227 and 7217 was about 0.15 MnT, as per Customs data available with SteelMint.
It is to be noted that the government has extended MIP on 66 steel products on 4 Aug’16 for another 2 months, including bar and rod under chapter/HS code 7213, 7214 and 7227 in the range of USD 449-455/MT. The extension of MIP will be valid till 4 Oct’16.
Wire rod prices
Indian large producers are offering 6 mm wire rod material at INR 27,000-27,500/MT ex-Delhi. While, wire rod producers in Raipur and Durgapur are offering 5.5 mm material at INR 24,000/MT and INR 22,500/MT respectively. Price are basic, excise duty & other taxes extra.
In global market, wire rod is available at around USD 350-357/MT, FoB China Main Port.
