The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs has agreed to offer coal through a single e-auction window for sale of non-linkage coal. This scheme will cater to the entire gamut of coal consumers ranging from the power sector to the non-regulated sector including traders, thereby marking a gradual shift away from the present system of sector specific auctions.
