Vietnam has by far remained the largest importer of Indian flat steel in CY17 followed by Italy, Belgium and UAE.
According to provisional customs data maintained with SteelMint,Indian flat steel exports have recorded growth of 44.4% in Jul’17 at 0.78 MnT which was seen at 0.54 MnT in Jun’17.
Moreover, on yearly basis,India’s flat steel exports rose significantly by whopping 95% in Jul’17 against previous year.In Jul’16 nation has exported 0.4 MnT .
In the span of first seven months of 2017 ( Jan-Jul ‘17) country has exported 5.91 MnT of flat steel registering a three fold jump in contrast to 2.07 MnT in consecutive time frame of previous year.
Fall in Chinese export volumes over domestic gains has provided enough scope to Indian exporters to capture overseas markets.
HRC/Plates exports doubled in Jul’17-India exported 0.48 MnT of HRC/Plates, M-o-M basis in Jul’17 against 0.23 MnT in Jun’17.Similarly other flat product exports like GP/GC gauged at 0.15 MnT, electrical sheets stood at 0.03 MnT and CRC at 0.11 MnT in Jul’17.
Vietnam was the major flat steel importer from India in Jul’17– Vietnam was the major flat steel importer from India and has imported 0.22 MnT in Jul’17. Other major flat steel importers from India in Jul’17 are Italy (0.08 MnT) ,Belgium at (0.08 MnT) and Malaysia at 0.05 MnT.
Vietnam has by far remained the largest importer of Indian flat steel in CY17 and accounted for 16.12% (0.95 MnT) of share in the first seven months of CY17. Other major importers were – Italy, Belgium and UAE.
Indian HRC export offers increased by 6% M-o-M basis-In Jul’17 the average prices for Indian HRC exports was recorded at USD 492/MT, FoB which was up by 6% ,M-o-M basis against USD 463/MT, FoB in Jun’17.
