Indian flat prices stable; expect some upward movement- Traders

Indian flat steel prices have been kept stable over last one month, traders see manufacturers might raise offers marginally in October on improved demand.

“Hr coil is still available at same price though we see prices going up soon as demand has improved. Current offers stand at Rs 34,000-35,000/t (Basic, Ex-Works).Only risk is appreciating currency which gives room for imports from China and Korea.” said a trader based in Jamshedpur.

Industry traders confirmed that Korean manufacturers have raised their offers by $10-15 looking at strong Rupee and good demand for imported coils in Indian market.
