Indian Finish Long Steel Exports Increase Marginally in CY’19

Indian finish long steel exports in CY’19 were registered at 912,482 MT as against 898,780 in CY’18, Thus exports increased 1.52% Y-o-Y in CY19, as per data maintained with SteelMint.

Commodity wise- Indian Rebar exports stood at 454,630 MT CY’19, up 7.11% as against 424,448 MT in CY’18. Wire rod exports by India stood at 270,004 MT in CY’19 (-4.3%) as against 282,162 MT in CY’18 and Structural steel exports by the country were registered at 187,848 MT in CY’19 (-2.24%) as against 192,170 MT in CY’18.

Country wise- In 2019, Nepal imported 327,081 MT of finished steel from India, down by 4.27% as compared to 341,701 CY’18. Hong Kong imported 176,352 MT in CY’19, enlarged by 123.24% as against 78,994 CY’18 and finished long steel exports to Bangladesh were registered at 72,213 MT in CY’19, amplified by 112% as compared to 34,102 MT in CY’18.
