Indian Ferrous Scrap Import increased by 4% in Nov 2016

As per the recent data maintained by SteelMint, the ferrous scrap imports by India during the month of Nov’16 increased by 4% over the previous month.

The country’s total scrap imports during Nov’16 amounted to 303,300 MT. The imports were increased by 4% as compared to Oct’16, which were recorded at 291,000 MT. Indian Scrap Imports for a period of Jan-Nov’16 totaled 4,878,351 MT.

During Nov’16, UK was the largest scrap exporter to India. The scrap imports from UK totaled 43,580 MT, accounting for more than 10% of the country’s total scrap imports.

The second largest exporter of scrap to India was the USA. The scrap imports by the country from the US totaled 42,421 MT. In third place was UAE with supply volume of 40,080 tons.
