Ferro Silicon prices remain unchanged as demand for the alloy is constant but low.
Current prices of Ferro Silicon (70-75) are Rs. 66,000 /MT in Guwahati, Rs. 69,000-70,000 /MT in Raipur. In Bhutan Ferro Silicon (grade 70) corrected marginally and is trading at Rs. 66,000 /MT (Ex-Bhutan). Prices mentioned are basic.
According to industry sources, there has been an increase in inquiries for lower-grade Ferro Silicon. SteelMint assessed this to be in line with the curtailed steel margins the steelmakers are operating with, especially the small and medium-sized ones, which may try to lower production costs by using lower quality material.
