Indian DRI, billet, rebar update – 24 Mar

  • Finished segment sees moderate demand
  • Rebar prices rise by INR 1,000/t in Delhi

India’s induction furnace (IF) steel market witnessed an uptrend on 24 March 2025, with mills’ offers rising by INR 1,000/tonne (t) d-o-d.

Sponge iron prices climbed up by INR 200-550/t d-o-d. Prices rose the highest in Raipur, by INR 550/t.

Billet tags increased by INR 200-650/t d-o-d. The Raipur market saw the steepest hike of INR 650/t today.

Additionally, rebar (Fe 500) offers rose by INR 200-1,000/t d-o-d. Prices in Delhi were up the most, by INR 1,000/t d-o-d.

The finished longs (rebar) steel market saw moderate demand across regions, and with prices rising considerably in the northern belt, other major markets also experienced strengthening steel tags, sources informed BigMint.
