India’s induction furnace (IF) steel prices firmed up today, with the fluctuation in the offers by INR 50-200/tonne (t) d-o-d on 17 June 2025.
Sponge iron offers varied by INR 50-150/t d-o-d, with the steepest increase of INR 150/t in Durgapur market.
Billet prices fluctuated by INR 50-200/t d-o-d across locations.
Rebar (Fe 500) prices increased by INR 200/t d-o-d. Prices rose the sharpest in Hyderabad and Durgapur regions by INR 200/t.
Today, while mills tried to push up prices, inquiries remained limited in the spot market, and buyers undertook need-based procurement. Market participants expect prices to hover within a limited range in the short term.
