- IF mills raise offers by INR 100-500/t
- Billets gain by INR 50-300/t d-o-d
India’s induction furnace (IF) steel market witnessed positive sentiments today, with mills raising offers by INR 500/tonne (t) d-o-d on 11 April 2025.
Sponge iron prices increased by INR 50-100/t d-o-d, with the steepest rise of INR 100/t occurring in the Bellary market.
Billet tags gained by INR 50-300/t d-o-d with the major hike seen in the Hyderabad and Mumbai markets (by INR 300/t).
Rebar (Fe 500) prices increased by INR 100-500/t d-o-d. Prices rose the highest in Rourkela, by INR 500/t.
Overall, the semi-finished market witnessed a stable trend with prices falling in the northern region whereas other regions witnessed some hikes. Trades were moderate throughout the day as buyers remained cautious on bulk booking. Finished steel demand, which actually drives market prices, is still on the lower side, and keeping prices volatile.
