Indian DRI, billet and re-bar update – 26 Apr

India’s induction furnace (IF) steel market witnessed mixed trends on 26 Apr’22 as offers from the medium-sized mills varied in the range of INR 50-1,200/tonne (t) d-o-d.

Sponge iron and billet prices varied in the range of INR 50-1,000/t following a major drop of INR 1,000/t in the Chennai’s billet market.

Also, rebar (Fe 500) offers decreased in the range of INR 400-1,200/t across regions. Prices fell sharply  in Delhi-NCR and Muzaffarnagar by INR 1,200/t.

Coal prices today remained on the higher side and sellers are willing to raise offers despite limited bids. However, trade volumes didn’t improve throughout the day in major locations.
