Indian DRI, billet and re-bar update – 21 Apr

India’s induction furnace (IF) steel market witnessed mixed trends on 21 Apr’22, as offers from the medium-sized mills varied in the range of INR 100-900/tonne (t) d-o-d.

Sponge iron and billets prices fluctuated with a major fall of INR 900/t seen in Jalna’s billet market in western India.

Also, rebar (Fe 500) offers varied in the range of INR 100-700/t across regions. Prices declined sharply by INR 700/t in Raipur, central India.

Meanwhile, spot trades in all segments remained moderate.

However, sellers are hoping for a price recovery in the coming days, although buying interest continues to remain dull in almost all markets.
