India’s induction furnace (IF) steel market witnessed mixed trends on 12 Apr’22 as offers from the medium-sized mills varied in the range of INR 50- 2,200/tonne (t) d-o-d.
Sponge iron and billet prices varied in the range of INR 50-1,000/t following a decrease of INR 1,000/t in Chennai’s market in southern India.
Also, rebar (Fe 500) offers declined in the range of INR 200-2,200/t across regions. Prices decreased by INR 2,200/t in Jalna, west India.
Although prices rose marginally in some markets, they generally trended lower on average trade activites.
