India’s induction furnace (IF) steel market witnessed an uptick in prices, with offers floated by the mills rising by INR 600/tonne (t) d-o-d on 3 April, 2025.
Sponge iron prices edged up by INR 100-200/t. Prices rose by INR 200/t in the Raipur and Ramgarh markets.
Billet prices increased by INR 100-400/t. The Jalna market saw an increase of INR 400/t today.
In addition, rebar (Fe 500) offers rose in the range of INR 200-600/t. Prices in Raipur and Raigarh moved up by INR 600/t d-o-d.
The finished longs (rebar) steel market saw moderate demand across regions, and as steel prices trended up in the central region, a similar strengthening in prices was observed in other major markets, sources informed.
