Iron pellet manufacturers based in India have preferred to keep their offers firm for starting of the April 2013. Current offers are firm in the range of Rs 7,400-7,500/t for 63% Fe.
“We have kept our offers firm amid advance bookings. Current offers are in range of Rs 7,450-7500/t (Loaded to wagons at Barbil) for Fe 63% iron pellet. Last month has been good for us as iron fines prices in domestic market corrected a bit.” said an executive at one of the pellet manufacturing plant based in Odisha.
On the other hand in Southern India, pellet prices are unchanged at Rs 7,400 per tonne for Fe 62. How ever with limited and inferior quality of iron ore available in e-auction, manufacturers are compelled to make low grade of pellet which are offered in range of Rs 6,800/t for Fe 60.
