Indian Chrome Ore Production Increased by 39% in Oct’15

Production of chrome and chrome concentrates increased approximately by 39% in Oct’15 in comparison to Sep’15.

Odisha contributes to around 98% of the total Chrome Ore produced in India. Chrome ore production in Odisha increased by 39% and stood at 265,367 MT in Oct’15. In Sep’15, chrome ore production was 160,953 MT.

Captive miners in Oct’15 have increased production by 20% M-o-M, mainly contributed by FACOR, IDCOL and Balasore Alloys Ltd. Similarly, merchant miners in Oct’15 had also increased production by a substantial 50% M-o-M, mainly contributed by Tata Steel.
