Furthermore, IMFA recorded a massive increase in its production in FY17 by 75% to 0.55 MnT. Whereas, OMC registered an increase of 26% Y-o-Y production to 1.21 MnT.
Saraubil Chromite Mines, which did not produce in FY16 have also witnessed a production of 0.14 MnT in FY17. However, ICCL refrained from production in FY17 and IDCOL registered a decrease of 59% in its production in FY17.
On M-o-M basis, Mar’17 chrome ore production witnessed a massive increase of 73% against Feb’17. An increase of 52% M-o-M has been registered in the production by captive miners in Mar’17. Whereas, non-captive miners have recorded a huge increase in production by 79% M-o-M in Mar’17. All the organizations have produced higher quantity in Mar’17 against Feb’17. This is mainly because mining activity vastly reduces during the rainy season and companies increase their mining output to safeguard against this loss.
