Indian bulk rebar exports were recorded at 198,661 MT in FY19, as per vessel line up data maintained with SteelMint.
The major share of exports was occupied by large scale producers as well as medium/small scale producers. The majority of volume has been exported from southern India i.e. Krishnapatnam port at 101,000 MT with two bulk vessels of 61,000 MT & 40,000 MT during Jul-Aug’18.
Meanwhile, exports from Chennai port, southern India stood at 63,675 MT with maximum number of 5 lots followed by Gangavaram port at 20,300 MT.
JSW Steel remained the largest bulk rebar exporter and occupied a share of around 77% i.e. 152,300 MT in FY19.
Beekay Steel has exported around 10,100 MT notified in medium scale mills and the favorable export destination has spotted to Hong Kong with 130,800 MT, followed by Myanmar at 37,600 MT and Taiwan at 17,500 MT.
