Indian Billet prices continue to lose ground

“Ahmedabad Billet prices witnessed a correction of Rs
500/MT
at Rs 34,700/MT (Basic, regular). Market is absolutely dull on poor sales in finished
products with negative sentiments” remarked a trader.

Demand
for Billet is weak resulting in reduction of price by Rs 300/MT in
Jalna at
Rs 33,000/MT (Basic, next day)”, market participants reported SteelMint.

“In Raipur,
Rourkela, Mumbai, Kandla and Bhavnagar,
marginal correction of Rs
100/MT was witnessed today.

“Demand
for Billet is average in
Goa at Rs 32,000/MT and in Chennai it is
being quoted at Rs 37,200/MT (Basic, next day)”, said traders.

“Offers
in
Mandi Gobindgarh, Raigarh, Kolkata, Durgapur and Hyderabad  have
not changed from last trade on decent buying volumes. Ban on sand mining by
Court has not been removed in
Hyderabad. If issues resolve, we
expect prices to improve”, remarked sources.
