Indian Billet offers remain at same levels

Indian Billet
manufacturers kept prices unchanged today anticipating improved demand ahead of monsoons.

“Construction activities generally improve ahead of monsoons” said traders.

Sellers
in Rourkela are unwilling to reduce price from Rs 31,800/MT as buyers wish to
purchase the material at lower offers.

A
trader in Hyderabad reported about the availability of Sand, an important raw
material, in small quantities. It was unavailable from sometime because of ban
on its mining by court. Hence, we expect more of action in construction sector
now as projects were kept on hold due to scarcity of the resource. Billet
price might stabilize in near term and demand is anticipated to improve from
South markets.

Offers at Raipur remain unchanged at Rs 33,000/MT with limited trade activities.

Jalna
markets witnessed gain in price by Rs 300/MT to Rs 34,400/MT. Last offers were
at Rs 34,100/MT on saturday. On account of indefinite power cut in Kothur
Industrial Region, Hyderabad, demand for Billet has increased in Jalna.

Billet price in Ahmedabad slip by Rs 500/MT because brokers in Gujarat are on strike.
They wish to be paid higher amount of commission on sale of the material than
the present charges.
