Total billet export from India in 2016 (Jan-Jul) was recorded at 546,390 MT.
Despite a recent import duty of 20% on billets by Bangladesh government in the month of Jun’16, Bangladesh based re-rollers prefer importing billets. Indian billet is preferred over Chinese and Russian due to less voyage time and better price.
